Speedmaster Anniversary Series (42mm, Steel with Coated Nylon Fabric Bracelet) With Box + Certificate

This 50th anniversary commemorative timepiece pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970 in recognition of the brand’s contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.
The stainless steel bracelet is presented on a blue nylon fabric strap. It features the Apollo 13 mission trajectory engraved on the lining. The silver dial features blue PVD hour markers and angular hands, plus a silver Snoopy medallion engraved on the blue subdial at 9 o'clock.
On the NAIAD LOCK caseback, a view of the far side of the Moon has been decorated on the sapphire crystal using a micro-structured metallisation process. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a magical hand, which rotates when the chronograph function is activated. Behind it, an Earth disc rotates once per minute in sync with the watch’s small seconds hand.
In addition to the black engravings on the caseback that pay tribute to the Apollo 13 mission and OMEGA’s Silver Snoopy Award, the watch also features a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The non-limited timepiece is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861 and comes in a special presentation box.

50th Anniversary of the Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award”
In 1970, OMEGA received the prestigious “Silver Snoopy Award” from NASA astronauts. The award recognised OMEGA’s unique contributions to space exploration, as well as the Speedmaster’s role in saving Apollo 13. Now, 50 years later, a special timepiece has been created to mark the occasion.
Main materials

316L stainless steel is OMEGA's preferred watch material, offering beauty, strength and value for money. Its high resistance to corrosion and its luster after polishing make it ideal for everyday watches and for demanding environments such as diving and adventure.

The domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, guaranteeing high scratch resistance and exceptional transparency.

OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with anti-scratch and anti-reflective treatment to highlight the details of the watches. Produced using the Verneuil process, which involves melting the crystal using an oxygen/hydrogen flame, the glass reaches grade 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it virtually scratch-resistant and ensuring excellent visibility.

Motion
Manual-winding chronograph movement with coaxial escapement. Master Chronometer certified and approved by METAS, it is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Balance without register with silicone balance spring. Rhodium-plated finish, bridges with straight "Côtes de Genève".
Snoopy in orbit
At the bottom of the dial, Snoopy appears in the Service Module (CSM) as a magic pointer. When the chronograph is activated, he travels towards the Moon, decorated on the sapphire crystal. A terrestrial disk also rotates once per minute, synchronised with the small seconds hand.
The legacy of comics
For more than half a century, Snoopy has been the “watchdog” of NASA’s safety program. In addition to representing the overall success of missions, he is also capable of keeping the environment light in more serious situations. Since 1968, the Silver Snoopy Award has been given to individuals or companies that have significantly contributed to the “success of manned space missions.”

“I took two OMEGAs into space. One with the elapsed time of the mission and the other with the time in Houston.”
